IIFL · IIFL Markets Trading API
IIFL copy trading, built on the IIFL Markets Trading API
Link your IIFL accounts, mark one as the parent, and every order it places is mirrored into the others with your own multiplier applied to each. Child accounts can sit at any supported broker.
Integration
How QuantGrid connects to IIFL
QuantGrid connects to the IIFL Markets Trading API and watches a parent account by polling its order book several times a second, which is how every account here is watched and is the source of record even where a live feed exists. Orders are placed over the same REST API. You sign in on IIFL's own page, so QuantGrid never sees your password or your second factor: what comes back is a session token scoped to IIFL's API, and that is the only thing it holds.
QuantGrid watches your parent account by reading its order book several times a second over the IIFL Markets Trading API. That is how every account here is watched and is the source of record even at the brokers that publish a live feed, so an order placed anywhere on the account is picked up, including one you place in IIFL's own app.
Child orders go over the same REST API. IIFL names an instrument by its own numeric instrument id rather than by a trading symbol, so QuantGrid holds IIFL's published contract files and resolves every contract through them. Those files are public, which is unusual, and it means QuantGrid can identify a contract before anyone has connected an account.
- Equity and F&O on NSE, BSE, NFO and BFO
- Commodity and currency replication is Zerodha only for now, and is switched on per account rather than by default.
- Sign in automatically each morning with your password and an authenticator code, or through IIFL's own page once each trading day. Automatic needs TOTP enrolled on the account
- The session lasts until midnight rather than for a fixed number of hours, so a session started in the evening is shorter than one started in the morning
- All four order types copy to an IIFL account, plain market orders included, which not every supported broker accepts
- Stop-loss market orders copy to an IIFL account
- Instruments are addressed by IIFL's own instrument ids, which QuantGrid resolves from their published contract files
- IIFL requires the address orders arrive from to be registered, and it accepts an IPv4 or an IPv6 address for it
- Order updates are read from the order book rather than a live feed. IIFL's feed needs its own software package, which cannot send from your dedicated address, so QuantGrid watches by polling: a few seconds slower to notice an order and no less reliable
- Cross-broker replication: an IIFL account can be a parent or a child

Connect IIFL in three steps
Setup is a one-time job and usually takes a few minutes. Nothing is replicated until you explicitly link a parent to a child and save a multiplier.
- 01
Create an application in the IIFL developer portal
Sign in with your IIFL Markets credentials, create an app, and copy the App Key and App Secret into QuantGrid. Fill in your IIFL client ID too, because the sign-in cannot be completed without it.
- 02
Register your dedicated address
QuantGrid assigns your account a dedicated static IP, IPv4 or IPv6. Register it against your application, then press Connect so the next session is created after the change. If you cannot find the field, your IIFL relationship manager can register it: IIFL does not document this step, so it is not always where you would expect.
- 03
Link accounts and set your rules
Mark one account as the parent, add your child accounts, and set a copy factor, lot size and max quantity for each one. Replication starts on the next order the parent places.
Want the full order path first? Read how it works, or book a free demo and we will do the first link with you on the call.
Authorisation
Sessions, tokens and revoking access on IIFL
Broker sessions are governed by the broker, not by QuantGrid. Here is exactly how that behaves so nothing surprises you at 9:15 in the morning.
You sign in on IIFL's own page, once a day
IIFL offers both. On Manual you press Connect, IIFL takes you to its own sign-in page, and neither your password nor your second factor ever reaches this platform. On Automatic, QuantGrid signs in for you each morning using your stored password and a code generated from your authenticator key, both encrypted at rest and used for nothing else. Automatic needs TOTP enrolled: IIFL falls back to an SMS or email code otherwise, and nothing unattended can read one.
The session ends at midnight, not after a fixed number of hours
IIFL states it plainly: a token is valid only until midnight on the day it was generated. A session started at 9am lasts fifteen hours and one started at 11pm lasts ten minutes. QuantGrid computes the end from that rule rather than from a duration, so it never believes a session is alive after IIFL has ended it.
Your IIFL client ID is needed before the first sign-in
IIFL builds your session from your client ID, the code its login page returns and your app secret together, so the client ID is part of the credential rather than a label. Fill it in on the account before pressing Connect. IIFL and Dhan are the only two supported brokers where that is true.
One static IP, reserved to your account
Your API traffic leaves from a dedicated static IP address that is never shared with another customer. Where a broker lets you restrict API access to a whitelisted address, you have one stable address to whitelist, and your activity is never mixed with anyone else's. See the security practices.
Pairing
Running IIFL alongside the other live brokers
An IIFL account works as a parent or as a child, in any combination with the other supported brokers. Every order type this platform models reaches an IIFL child in its own form, a plain market order included, with nothing substituted for it, which is not true of every broker here. One thing to plan around: order updates are read from the order book rather than a live feed, because IIFL's feed needs its own software package which cannot send from your dedicated address. That costs a few seconds in noticing an order and nothing in reliability, since the order book is what QuantGrid treats as the record everywhere. A session ends at midnight either way, and on Automatic it is renewed for you.
IIFL as parent
Drive children at any live broker
Orders placed in your IIFL parent account replicate into child accounts at IIFL, Zerodha, Angel One, FYERS, Groww, Motilal Oswal, Upstox, Nuvama Wealth, ICICI Direct, Dhan, Kotak and Tradejini, each with its own copy factor, lot size and max-quantity cap.
IIFL as child
Follow a parent at another broker
A IIFL account can equally be the follower. A parent at Zerodha or Angel One or FYERS or Groww or Motilal Oswal or Upstox or Nuvama Wealth or ICICI Direct or Dhan or Kotak or Tradejini drives it, with symbol and product-type translation applied automatically on every order.
See the full parent and child matrix for every supported combination.
Pricing
What IIFL replication costs
One price per broker account you connect: its dedicated static IP, with every feature included. IIFL's API accepts IPv6, so that is what its accounts are issued, at the lower of the two prices. There is no platform fee, no per-child software surcharge and no share of anything you trade.
Dedicated static IPv6
Every feature included₹500per 30 days + 18% GST
per broker account
What your account is issued wherever the broker accepts IPv6.
Dedicated static IPv4
Every feature included₹800per 30 days + 18% GST
per broker account
What your account is issued where the broker cannot take IPv6.
